The Mathematical Science Department has used Gradescope for two summer examination seasons, and a full academic year of formative and summative homework. Gradescope is a powerful tool, broadly popular with both students and teaching staff, that allows for fast and reliable marking of hand-written student work. This presentation will outline the benefits of Gradescope for both of these applications, and then focus on the particular challenges faced when it is used for exams.
